need to know how to properly id which carbs i have was told set off 2.7 was big bore 3ltr was small bore honestly cant tell the differance any info would greatly be appreciated also will need jetting info 89 225 vertex pistons gonna run stock 33809 heads for break in boysen reeds elevation 2500 ft air box with baffles thanks phil:smiletest:

Metal plate on the side of the carb will have a part number and the carb has a number cast in the top.

ok ill go check right now want to rejet all mains idles and mids. the numbers are398635 on the 225 .398394 on the 2.7ltr thanks phil:smiletest:

so i know the 398394 are in fact the big bore carbs but what about the 398635 also thanks al for information really helpfull:thumbsup:

mains are 59d all holes mids are 47 all holes.idles 34all holes any sggestions.elevation 2500 ft stock motor with boysen reeds with baffle and airbox thanks ahead of time phil:smiletest:

Phil are you sure its not 398365 as 635 does not come up

al, you are right the number is398365 can you tell me what they are? I wrote down wrong number need to have my eyes checked I was even looking through magnifiing glass and good light thank you so much phil:eek:

Those are 3.0 litre 225

Those came with 62D stock if the engine is stock they should be fine but I would start a little rich and work down, I would also run the bottom cylinders up 2

once again thank you I was thinking the same thing on 5 and 6 this thing has leaned those clylinders before. motor basically stock to start just added fiber reeds after break in I will put 2.7heads on but for right now just want to see what i got. thanks al phil:smiletest:
