Thanks for the helping. I was coming up with something close to that. Is gear set 43-44104A7, 43-44104A8, and what you said all the same gear set as for as the forward and pinion set. GLM 11450 gears refer to 43-44104A8. I'm not sure if these are good or not but was thinking of using them instead of mercury cuz they cheaper. Any thoughts on them?

they are good parts just make sure you hold the forward gear lash to spec and pinion height . lash is .0018 to.0026, pinion.0025 thousandths they will last as long as any of them

So basically all three numbers are the same gear set? The housing also has a cracked bearing carrier. I'm coming up with 848840A1. According to the net those numbers for that carrier fit into the CLE, Sport, torque masters all under my motors serial number. I think that carrier number will fit in my lower unit too right?

that is a 1 1/4 dia propshaft number that case number has no connection to CLE Sporty or Torqmaster carriers? you must have a Promax for this to be pulling up, the case number you stated was a fishing motor case 2.1 and 1.87

Yes that is correct. I do have a promax, well really a Mariner super mag same thing. When I got the motor, the lower unit had been changed out. I would perfer the one that came with it but that is how it came. The lower unit I have now has been sent to Bobs for the nose cone then sent back. So now I'm in search for the correct carrier number for the lower unit. Those carrier numbers I stated were looked up under the super mag. Its hard to find out correct part numbers with just a casting number on the lower unit. I could not find the part number on the carrier but found a casting number and it is 818954-c Nothing seems to come up on the net when google searcing that casting number.

for standard carrier is 43567T 1 however if your gonna surface the prop i would recommend installing a 3.0 carrier part number 818763A10 it is cheaper and twice as heavy same small size prop shaft hope this helps:thumbsup:

Make sure the 3.0 carrier has the keyway slot because they have with and without you need the keyway, ask me how I found out. Lol
