Have a 2005 Dodge Truck with heater problem. When I set switch to blow hot air out by my feet it doesn't blow hot air out by my feet. Comes out as defrost on windshield or through dash vents. What should I be looking for? Electrical-bad select switch, mechanical-loose hose, or ?? Appreciate any help! Thanks.....

Sounds like the duct door is not moving. I don't know if it's electric or vacume on that truck.

I have been working on ac and heat in cars for years, what usually happens is the mode door, which controls where the air actually comes out of the dash at breaks, cheap plastic.Already fixed 2 this week.
That's what mine was; ordered a part two days ago.

the only problem with that is that it usually takes 2 people to lift the dash out of the truck while youre in there check the recirculation(max air)door they are bad about breaking also

It happened to mine and the little motor that moves the door back and forth was f*cked.

It's likely the flapper door (just like everyone said)...it's a known problem with the Ram. Mine works for floor or vent but if I switch to defrost it doesn't like to come back..luckly the floor setting still sends some air to the defrost lol.

I'll check out that door this weekend, hope it's not too hard to get too. Mine works everywhere except to the floor. Defrost and dash vents work perfectly.

Lots of info and you will have to remove the dash to get to it.Its a common Dodge problem from the factory.I have a 03 and it started last year and I have just lived with it.

the only problem you will have is that you can not see it without taking the dash out of the truck but the good thing is that you do not have to take the evaporator case out the truck to change the door assembly, good luck with it if you have any questions shoot me a pm.
