I AM LOOKING TO REPOWER A 21' SUPERBOAT LEGEND WITH AN OPTIMAX 300XS. I HAVE HEARD DIFFERENT OPINIONS AS TO WHETHER USE A SPORTMASTER GEAR CASE OR A TORQUE MASTER GEAR CASE.

I HAVE EXPERIENCE RIGGING AND SETTING UP LARGE V-BOTTOMS AND CAT HULLS, BUT NONE WITH LITTLE V BOTTOMS. MY GUT SAYS A SPORTMASTER IS BEST, BUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME NOT TO RUN A SPORTMASTER ON A 21 SUPERBOAT???

OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES PLEASE....POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES? I DON'T SEE WHY A SPORTMASTER WOULD BE BAD PERFORMING OR HANDLING ON THIS BOAT?

THANKS!

85 MPH is a good cutoff point - above that speed you would want a Sportmaster.

mike, w/300xs or 300x sportmaster is the only way to go. torquemaster will be no good:thumbsup:

I would have to agree with ragu sportys the way to go . others will differ but if its speed and handling the sporty is the way only to go. you will run out of water pressure with the others before you get to the right hight with anything other than the sporty. my opinion only> opinions are like well you no!!???

My experience and set up knowledge told me hte same thing...sporty only! Not sure what other were thinking on the TM gear case?

Thanks for the feed back.
