OK here is the deal, Just for fun and some education we are going to try to bring back the black sides and bottom and silver metalflake on this 1980 champion tunnel-hull before we strip it and re-shoot it to see what actually works and does not work!
Need input on easy ways to restore colors to faded boat!
so far we tried boatlife color restorer and it did a crappy job but looks twice as good as before
next we tried WD-40 and it actually worked but im shure it wont last long
today we are doing a spot with pledge cleaner!
I will post pics tomorrow of the changes for everyone to see.
Send your Ideas please to bring the old girl back to color!

penatrol is what you need its getting harder to find
but if you put several cote,s on it will bring it back it works like the wd-40 did
but dont tell everyone cause i paint um lol

nah if its to far gone nothing will bring it back thats actually a good sign that the wd worked

Never heard of it, we did Star-Brite 2 coats followed by turtle wax and it was twice as good but looked shi*** to me, next we hit it with pledge cleaner and folled up with turtle wax- alot faster than the star brite and looked better, wd-40 leaves a film on it and it is not good but really shines.
just playing with it and probally will cuss when we try to sand and get ready for new gel but what the heck lets see what does and does not work for real and compair it to the others!!

west marine has penatrol or i could order it for ya its a old old time cheap fix and if you work it in really really good it will look like the wd did and hold up for a season
but yea once you get all that in you got to wait till it all burns off before you can re spray it

aqua buff 2000 or 1000 http://www.aqua-buff.com/site/478459/product/AB1000F
I used to use pledge at boat shows on a red boat that was badly oxidized, but i had to keep reapplying it. It is definitely a very short term solution.

wipe on wipe off nothing to it i think its a oil base i never looked or used just seen it used time and time again by the old timers another customer just a few weeks brought his boat by for me to see i think it was skeeter bass boat anyway it was red metalic looked almost bran new for the most part and only hit it twice
just try it youll like it and it will buy you some time
