crank thread help

trying to get the flywheel off and flared and split the threaded area on the crank. anybody know who can fix this. it split down about 4 or 5 threads. i think i can grind it down and there still enough to retighten the flywheel but rather get it fixed. still not got it off, got the right tools to do it with must be stuck good. 3.0 opti merc. any help app.

You might be able to grind a little off and then rethread whats left but that depends on the damage. I have welded them up and re-threaded them as well. Be sure to use the right puller, not the conventional crow foot style but the same as required by merc. You can strike the top of the puller bolt with a heavy hammer after applying some good penetrating oil and sometimes it will come loose if the tension is tight enough.. THIS JOB CAN TURN INTO A NIGHTMARE if started incorrectly.
