I know you know a lot about nitro engines - check out this new 1:8 scale Caster Racing ZX1.5R. It has the new pull start GoTech .21 that's supposed to have insane power. It also has 16mm big bore shocks and very thick shock towers. I'm betting this thing will rip!

Looks a lot like my Ofna MBX -2 except mine has the .26 engine . The . 21's rev higher though . Pretty trick , where's the air filter ?

Hey Tom - I just realized I posted this in Gen. Discussion by accident. Ooops :)
I just left the air filter off for the photos because it hides a lot :)

Haha! You're getting in to these things, eh? :D
Which Go 21 is it? I hear they have a new one out. Looks like an OS carb too.
It has plenty of metal stiffeners it looks like, and servo mounts. Rigid in that area is good.
Have you been to a track yet?

What kind of radio do you have? Sounds like you'll need one with a multi model memory. I have a Spektrum DX 3.0 and it holds 4 different models. It also has several adjustments like steering exponential, end point adjustment, etc.

Hey F/C, a little OT but a question for ya. I've been screwing around with little heli's for a little while. I think I 'm about ready for a decent one. Any recommendations for an RTR helicopter?

what is the price ?
When I looked at the pic's I thought the same thing looks just like my Ofna Ultra LX mine had a 21 replaced with a 26.
I bought my LX in 2001 and it still runs great . Mine starts with a cordless drill . pull start sucks !
Nice looking buggy!

The best thing you can do is get a flight simulator. The larger the bird, the more stable, but also the price goes way up. Hard to beat Align. They make some good stuff!
RTF choice I guess would be a Blade 400. http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1400 Don't think about getting the cheaper Blade CP. I have had one and worked on a friend's... they suck!
Most higher end models you build from a kit, and choose your radio components. When I bought my Trex 500 CF, I walked out of the hobby shop just over $1300. ;)
Fixing to buy a Blade mSR. I'll let you know how it does.

I was checking out Casters website from the link you posted on the other thread. They are bad ass and I may just have to check them out a little closer.

Hey Greg, how are you aligning the front and rear? I think they make a jig, but I did some research for settings and did it by eye. :)

Hey Greg, check this out. I bought this used, did a bit of repair, rewired and rigged…. It is ready! I just need to do a shake down run. I have to do a lot of radio adjusting for the first flight. I am a bit nervous. :o
Blade to tail is over 5'. It has a .50 OS in it.
First time I ran it up on my stand, the tail rotor blew apart and it did some good damage from the vibration. All is fixed now though.... ;)

I don't think I'm actually getting into them, but they're fun. My dog loves chasing them around, so he has a great time with 'em. It's a lot of fun. I'm not sure which Go model it is, but it's a 3-port so it should have really good low-end power.

I got rid of the Futaba I had a while back, so I have to get another - most likely a Futaba 3PM this week. I won't be using the radio or servos that came with the Caster car, though I've used that radio on the 1:18 cars and it's been flawless.

Yeah, Caster is really going after the RTR market now. This car is essentially the ZX1.5R PRO model, but in RTR form. According to Mike from Caster USA, they are pricing these things very aggressively to get into the market since a lot of people don't know who Caster is. Judging from the quality of the parts, I think they're on the right track. Everything is CNC'd - not stamped. Check out how thick the shock towers are too, and it has 16mm big-bore shocks. Not bad at all.

I haven't even touched the suspension on it, but as you can see it has a lot of toe-out in the front. I'm going to see how it sits and runs with the battery pack and fuel in it, since once the car is weighted more the toe-out will go away. We'll see though. I think I will have to increase toe-in at the rear though.
That copter you have is crazy! I would be too scared to try to fly one of those - a very expensive model that I would no doubt crash right away. One look at all the channels on the radio is enough for me to know it's beyond my skill level. :(

Yea... that is what I want too, but this was cheap and I got some spare parts. I love the way the Trexs are put together. I have a 500 CF and it is the ****!
I was thinking of gutting this one and running a Trex 600 under it. ;)
LOL! Greg you could do it! That is how I got in it. Revo... Plane.... several cheap eflite helis... then the real stuff. :D

Greg, the choppers are hard...I flew a lot of stuff, but was always leary of the choppers.
My last one was a 40% scale Extra 300S with a Desert Aircraft 150CC gas engine...

Well the cheapest way to lurn to fly heli's is to get the realflight simulator.. its $200 new and had planes and heli's.. if you can fly it on the sim, you can fly it for real...

I had that, and was pretty good with the choppers, I was just too skeered to try them in real life lol!
Besides, the guys at the field always enjoyed watching me fly the fixed wing stuff, so I stuck with that. Nothing like a knife edge pass a few feet off the ground, ending in a hover with the rudder 6" off the ground, then a torque roll for a while, ending in a vertical climbout....I always followed that up with an inverted pass as low as I could go...many times I would land and have the top of the rudder green from dragging it through the grass....:D
I loved to take my smaller plane (a 1/4 scale Cap232 and a 1.8CI 4 stroke) and do limbo passes with it...two poles with a ribbon between. After each INVERTED pass, my spotters would go out and lower the ribbon until I wussed out...I stuffed that plane more than once lol!

No one taught me to fly my RC Heli. I flew my plane one time before I flew my heli. I had a flown the Eflte coaxial helis, CX2 and MCX...
I bought the plane to make sure I could fly the heli. I was in the hobby store buy long throw arms for the servos on the plane caue it wouldn't loop, roll, etc tight enough....., and 1200 bucks later I walked out with a Trex 500 CF. I built it from the kit, supplied it with the best Ti geared digital servos, gyro, and gear. Set the head up with digi caps and programed the radio too.
Hard is something I'd like to stick a pretty young lady with. The rest is easy! :D
Get a good flight sim. I have the old Realflight G 3.5 I think. Doing a lot of nose in. And a little inverted. :)
