I have a 22 ft boat I need to flip to work on the bottom. I have a standard 2ton engine lift. However, I am not sure how to flip the entire boat? Any experienced ideas with a boat this size?

Thanks,
Ross

I use the bow eye and run the rope the direction I want the Boat to turn then use a transom eye on the same side to pick it up with, then slide a couple tires under it while it is hanging and lower the boat now it can be pulled over pretty easy. Unless it is a wet resin Bucket.

Thanks. Wasn't sure the bow eye would be strong enough to lift from. Anything I should double check first?

I have turned 40' Patrol boats over that way no problem but if you have weak hardware you will need slings ,everything we built got inverted for finishing.

The easiest way to flip a boat is to hook up a engine hoist to the front eye,get yourself two 3/4 pieces 4by8 plywood.Cut each piece of plywood in a semi-circle.Now you have a 8ft circle. Bolt the two pieces together. It will look like a 8ft round table.Lift the back of the boat off the ground a little, bolt the plywood to the transom and your done. The boat will roll with ease.I have done this with a few 21 ft boats when working on the hulls. If you want a little more leverage screw a 2by4 to the back of the plywood and use that to rotate the boat.Hope this helps. I like the circle on the transom idea, i use 2 lifts with a strap on each and roller and lift and roll it and set it down, good thinkin for using 1 lift option

Thanks guys, gives a couple good options. Will be trying to do this, hopefully in the not too distant future to start the resto project. Having some concrete work done in the yard so I have more "play" space.
