Because he didn't want to listen to all the bashers, smartasses, and GM haters running their sausage washers.

That's my guess, anyways...

Didn't GM ask to take a second bail out? Kind of funny for a manufacture to do that has the top selling car in the US.

Let the pissing match begin! :D

any response from a moderator yet?

What would be the point in starting a thread to state a fact only to ask to have it locked?

I agree the new camaro does grow on ya, at first i wasnt a huge fan, but I am beginning to like them more and more.

I agree with you on that, Put it side by side with a original and they look very close, Plus look under the hood, its not so cluttered, you can actually see the wheel wells.

I like all the muscle cars, but like the Mustang the best. They could have done this one a little better though. But that could have to do with a Boss302 I was around when I grew up. The Camaro looks too Cadillac-ish to me with that grill the rest is ok and they seem to have great HP numbers. I just hope they all figure this mess out, US automakers going down the tubes is a really bad idea no matter who is at fault. I think it is more a symptom of current US business policy with a little bad management mixed in and its not just the automakers in trouble or decline....which is the real problem.

I don't like a locked thread like that, isn't the nature of boards like this to post comments? I guess I don't care really.

One thing I really, really hate about any current car with any kind of performance image.....is that giant ugly mudflap they put over the engine.

I am not totally opposed to the Camero (better ??)... I was just expecting way more from Chevy after the Mustang came back looking as good as it did prior to 2010 models( hate the new tail light change),,,, and the Challenger hitting the target right on the nose as far as retro looks being very close to the cars of the 70's...

Chevy was presented the challange to develop a great come back retro Camero, after killing off the last generation and stating that fugly truck friggin thing was THE ticket to replacing the Iconic Camero ( dayum,, spelled it rite three times in a row now),, They already had the Stang and Challenger to base their new model against, as those two were spot on. I just believe they could have done a better job and really make the statement, WE GOT IT ON, with the new model. In my opinion, they got it 80% right. I'm glad the sells are good on them, and I do check each one out that I see.

After such a long delayed release I can understand high initial sales. Let's see the sales numbers a year or two from now. :p

I hope the Camaro hangs around this time. Competition in this segment means we the buyers benefit. And I've owned a Camaro and a Mustang also a big block 70 El Camino and big block 72 Chevelle. So I don't want to hear all the Chevy fan boyz start whinning. :p
Wait until I finish my RestoMod 27 Track T with a stroked 351W, SLA front suspension w/ inboard mounted coilovers and a modified Jag IRS. Power to weight ratio should be around 5.6:1. :D

All three retro cars, Camero Mustang and Challenger are cool looking and carry that 60's and 70's look . To us who knew the car of the day we look for the exact body lines and power under the hood . Well we got more !

They all did a dam good job , these retro cars are faster, handle better and get better gas milage over the older cars and run cleaner !

I have checked them all out and have driven all 3 . All are very nice to drive. If I wanted one I pick the Mustang ! I'm not a Ford guy !
I don't like the dash on any of them, I think they could have done much better dash layout. All look like not much though went into the dash !

Just my 2 cents ! :)

This is the car I would like to see Chevy retreo and look like the pic !

When a friend of mine was in town last month, he rented a camaro, he told me that they had a whole lot full of them, the rental place told him that G M gave the place a deal, but they had to buy a boat load of them, and they are a major nationwide company, you think that had anything to do with sales?
I also drove it, piece of useless junk, I am 6' tall, when I sat in it there was barely enough room to get my hand between my head and the roof, the interior lay out, and the way it felt was horrible, but I have to say it did take that 10 MPH curve @ 45 MPH, pretty good.

I read about Ford getting all new motors for most of their cars, including ecoboost turbo motors for many V6 and I4...maybe a V8 if the stars align correctly. Also talking about the turbo SHO motor in the Mustang, that would be impressive. I missed the 302 part though I better investigate.:smiletest: I do know they have a 5.0 (302?) crate modular motor they use in performance stuff.

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/02/hold-on-to-your-horses-2011-mustang-details-leak-out-on-interne/

Looks like the 4.6 is going to be replaced by a 5.0 maybe.
QUOTE
"As of now the 5.0L/4V revised Modular based engines used in the '11 Mustang GT will have direct injection, VVT, revised aluminum blocks with longer sleeves to accomodate the longer stroke, a and 3.6X" bore. Weight reduction is also part of the new Stangs future. Ford is also testing a twin turbo version of the 5.0/4V motor though production is doubtful.
6.2s Boss V8s are now relegated to truck only duty. As for the Boss line of engines, they are 2V/OHC iron block, with plans for an Al version, displacements ranging from 5.8-7.0L, possibly 4V heads, and twin turbo versions are being tested. The Fe block weighs 211 pounds and will definitely be used in the F series. It has 102 mm (4.015") bores on 115 mm spacing. It does NOT have siamese cylinders. It DOES have under piston oil squirters. The main journals are ~ 75 mm diameter and the bulkheads are pretty thick. As for bore/sroke that's approx. 4.015"x3.73" for the 6.2."

Or maybe 2012???
