Hardly ever missed a race when Micheal was racing and haven't seen one since. Got excited when I heard he was gonna come back as a replacement for someone but I don't think it happened.

Wow. That is too cool. I added the site to my favorites and will keep an eye on it. Very curious as to who will drive and what he/she will drive. Didn't know Schumacher raced motorcycles. Also heard something about no F1 at indy? Probably old news but I quit following it. Maybe F1 at Watkins Glen or something would be cool. Thanks for the info.

I was planning on attending this, but looks like work committments...... Anyway, I'm surprised he's showing up for a parking lot race around plastic barriers. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how he finishes..

No F1 at Indy for the past 2-3 years. Bernie Ecclestone is a greedy ******* among other things. I doubt we will see a USF1 race untill the greedy emporer dies or is forced out. Indy is the only track in the US that complies with the regulations the FIA requires.

Makes sense. People think there is a lot of money in Nascar. Multiply that by 10 and ya got F1. I was surprised to see there have been measures to cut costs. When F1 is concerned about finances the economy has to be bad.

Been watching F1 for a very long time. Actually I've been watching just about every kind of racing on TV since I was a kid. Did a little drag racing and use to play around with a friends 125cc shifter kart. Use do alot of 4 wheeler riding too, when I was young.

Earliest F1 I remember was when Keke Rosberg was racing for Renault, back in the turbo days. Nigel Mansell is one of my favorite drivers of all time. I always liked his driving style. I also have some pics of Mario with his "World Champion" Lotus turbo Esprit and also Michael Andretti racing either a Formula Ford or Super Vee at Road Atlanta back when Michael was racing at the SCCA runoffs at Road Atlanta around 81-82.

Here too. I started back in the early 70's. Tyrell vs Ferrari. It was great being able to see, Stewart, Ickx, Fittipaldi, Regazzonni, Revson, Cevert and a whole bunch of others I've forgotten, race at the Glen. Only 3 hrs drive from my house and tickets were at LOT less than today. Glad it's at least coming back to Montreal. I'll make the trip next year.

I'm not sure how the two rejects that ran F1 (mosely and bernie) can justify what they called "cutting costs" when the changed the rules and formats of the cars every year. The 2004 spec cars with the v-10 was the best ever. I can't imagine what it cost for teams to develop the failure if the KERS system last season just to cast it by the wayside for next year. Hopefully with Todt and FOTA some form of sanity will return. The sooner Bernie dies the better off they will all be.

Being born in 64 I don't really know what year it was but I do remember watching Stewart race on TV. So I do remember before Keke. Monaco GP is the only race I remember being televised back then.
I do remember seeing the 6 wheel Tyrell's on TV at Monaco.

I'll be glad the day he steps down for sure! I'm sure alot of the F1 people will be glad too. Wonder how much of a difference Todt is going to be.

Youngster

Probably the most memorable and unfortunate race I attended there was the GP in '73. Jackie Stewarts up and coming teammate, Francois Cevert, died in a wicked crash in Saturday qualifying. I'll never forget that.

Youngster, thank you. I don't mind being called that. :D

That must have been rough when that happened. I've seen some bad accidents at NHRA races over the years.
I remember watching, live on TV, when Senna's steering broke and he hit the wall that took his life. That was a bad weekend too.
It's looking like Bruno Senna, his nephew, will race in F1 next year.
