How would a(800lbs.) 20cc Bullet run with a lip pad like the Allisons.Has anyone ever made this type mod? It looks to me like it would give a flatter run angle!
Thanks, G.I.Gene

it would be interesting to try it. something like .020" to .030" high depending on power.

A Bullet has a 14"+ wide pad that can caryy weight well, and an 800 lbs. hull should fly pretty flat on it as long as it's set up well with a prop and jackplate that complement it's lesser need of bow lift than the fishing weight counterparts will require... A Bullet pad isn't flat, so that will throw some complications into the mix with how the water will feed into and pass under the pad compared to an Allison pad... I reckon the only way to know would be to try, BUT BE CAREFUL... Bullets can hook also but not as often as Allison's, at least when Bullet don't have a lip ;)....

they all will hook when your pushing the limit. Call it it what ever you want too... Speed take $$, Knowledge of what the boat doing/wants, & NUTS

Rather than adding a lip (real purpose is to keep the bow down on an, uncontrollable, ultra-lite hull) try moving your engine closer to the transom. This will give the added benefit of a better holeshot and flatter attitude. BTW, those lips add drag.

I don't think I'LL mess with it! My jackplate is a 12",I'm going to try a 8". I'm running a 300 Yamaha,it might be to heavy for this hull!

With a 500lbs.+ engine on an 800 lbs. hull I think an 8" will be just about right, especially if You tend to carry lighter loads... Now You just need a 50 pitch prop ...

It's gonna run great with either, those hulls don't have any trouble carrying the Yamaha sized engines just don't beat on it too hard in choppy water or rough roads... The hull isn't fragile, just not a fishing lay-up and could benefit from some level of caution... If I had Your boat with a Yamaha right now, I would have zero complaints... Heckuva strong lake combo...
