Looks like one that I was looking at that was for sale in Florida last year, but it had a 2.6/260 on it.
Boy it would be nice to know how it runs.
I thought it would be nuts to put a 300 promax on the Euro.

Hard to say Mike...that's why I am asking
...heck a 467 lb 300 PM is light compared to some other manufacturers V6's.
Its not the HP that would concern me ...just the wieght and how it might effect handling at WOT or even going through the porpoise.
Not sure it would get the tail lift it requires with all that mass on the transom.
Anyway...hope someone can report...I sure would like to test drive it for myself tho

Anthony, I talked to the guy, says it runs an easy 100+ and never rung it out yet. Says it out accelerates just about anything out there that is a pleasure boat. Did not discuss porpoise. I just bought a 300 PM myself new in the box and am looking for the right boat to put it on. Right now It is either a Euro or a Triad v-bottom. Either one will run well in excess of 100. Incase you do not recognize me, I came and picked up your boat in Canada.

...of course I know who you are :D...I actually look forward to reading your posts...as it was quite an honor to meet a man like yourself with your racing history...your COOL!!
I would really like to drive one of these before I would move on putting a 300 on a Euro.
Certainly 300 will put it over 100 mph...but will it fly like its supposed too. or will it just go fast cause of 300 hp pushing it and fly high like a V instead of a tunnel...that would be my concern at least..
See if the guy will let you take it out!!

The boat is Louisiana and I am in Florida. Log onto Boatrader.com and search for STV, you will see it there. You have valid questions, however there is a really nice Euro on Scaryfast.com with a Johnson on it. I believe they weigh almost as much as a 300, and the owner says it runs into the low 100's with this motor. Give him a shout, I may go and look at this boat in 2 weeks. It is only 31/2 hours from me, and it looks to be pristine, original owner and decked out real nice.

I have a friend with a 300PM on a Mirage ski racer, and it works great! 114 on GPS with a 32p cleaver. The boat sits real flat in the water, it's quiet, and he has none of the durability problems the 2.5 has. The only issue he had was gearing, because it was easy to hit 6400rpm on such a light boat.
I have my Stream up for sale, and I want a Euro and I'm putting my drag motor on it, but 300PM-X might be the ticket!

Good to hear, I just picked up a nice 15X32 cleaver for my 300PM, still trying to decide on the boat. Like your friend, I wanted a production big power motor that will live a long time with a warranty. Into the 100"s will be fine with me or ride 4 people at 100, what a thrill!!!:D

I also have a friend with a Hydrostream Voyager running a 300PM. That thing is a trip to see run across the lake! 95mph bowrider! I was told the Mirage ran 117 with a 34P.
I just took some good pics of these boats, but it dosen't pay to post them at this time.

THANKS Duane I would never question Johnny's pushin stv's into 3 didgits...again is it pushing the boat or flying it...?
Cause an stv that gets into its proper "hunch"... tail lift at 95 mph, angle of attack at 1° will keep on accelerating as long as you keep your foot into it.
If you run it like a V, it was just hit a wall and not go any faster, if you fly them too high...
So again my main concern...is it going to get the proper tail lift with a 450+ OB.
Maybe it will just need the right prop...a nice stern lifting cleaver:D
Anyway...Duane that would be real great if you could go see it and take it out for us!!
I would agree...if the STV can handle the 300PM...it would be a darn sweet ride on oil injection.
Also don't forget you can get 100 mph with the 225PM.... you just need that same 32" pitch runnin at the rev limiter and a long lake...
that will be my next rig...Euro with 225PM

I'm sure you could go triple digits with the big boy, and no doubt spinning a 24 prop would launch you real hard. But, a hot 260/280 or a drag will run 100+ and accelerate hard with a 24 pitch prop. I do not think you can have it that way with a 300PM.
I'm not 100% on this and I know Wayne T is building short, light mids and more for tthe 300 X. Guess you could save the weight off a setback bracket for sure. Like I posted above...HHMM?;)
