Just read that Duff Daily had an accident in his K boat at
Rockey Stone Memorial Kilos in Lincoln City, Oregon on October 10, 2009. This is what I read...
He had made a pass earlier at 142, and he was easily going that fast. I read he was out of the capsule before the rescue squad even got to him...this is all hear say, if anyone has any more info...can you please post it. I want to make sure he is OK. Thanks
downloaded this pic off the net, I don't see any copyright on it, hope it's ok.

I have put a call into Duff to check on his condition. The boat was equipped with a safety cell and a 5 point harness system. Here is a link to the photos of the crash, real violent. You can see Duff in the capsule during the ride. Will keep all posted when I hear from Duff.

Thanks for the info, I just thought of something, I have his number in Phil's phone book maybe I will give him a call also. I remember back in the 90's after his really bad crash he said he would NEVER get into a flat bottom without a capsule again. I think he had a couple of crashes after the bad one that he walked away from without injury because of the capsule. If you do call him please tell him that Phil Alepa's fiance' Sue sent her best and said thank God he is Ok and I am thinking of him...thanks

I spoke with Duff this evening and he is OK and uninjured, except for some severe brusing of his legs where the 5 point harness system kept him in the seat. He was wearing his Hans device, which appears to have prevented a broken neck, as his head was jammed up against the canopy during the ride. He advised me that he had the interior sides of the boat foamed, in which he contributes to the boat remaining intact during the ride and not discentrigating during the multiple inpacts with the water. We are all extremely happy he was not injured which proves what the safety cell can do to prevent inury during such a horrific crash.

Thanks for posting that news!!!! I am so happy to hear that Duff is doing ok:thumbsup:...was he driving Terry Bilbery's Champagne Taste??? I wonder if he still drives John Brinton's P/S Light Speed. I have been out of the circuit for a long time, I try to keep up with the news on the APBA site but usually with the Pro/Stock class...I really want to give him a call but I am afraid of getting too emotional on the phone. You don't know how happy I am to hear about the Hans device, that is my biggest fear in racing with those guys, after seeing Cory get paralyzed in Canada many years ago. Thanks again!!!Sue
