They might physically bolt up, really not sure never tried it, but I wouldn't run them. 2.5's use a locator pin to center the head, a vast improvement over a 2.4 head.
As for compression, I think 37-39cc on a 2.5 should give you about 145psi with stock porting, and a little less, maybe 32cc on a 2.4.
Keep in mind every motor is a little different.

U have to take off about .070" off tha side ov a 2.5 hed in order to fit on a 2.4...Tha 2.5 hed iz drill'd for tha dowl, but it don't matter, kuz tha 2fo block(unless a fat block) don't have dowels...Actually, I thank sum ov tha later(pre fat block, did have dowels)...I thank I remember have'in to state whether it had dowes or not!!.....In any case, 2.5 heds work on a 2.4 or 2.0 if ya take off tha sides...32cc's should put ya close to 145#s...JMO

you mean off the sides as in how you would normally take off the sides to lower the cc's

I would really just look for a set of 2.4 heads - they are cheap and then you wouldn't have to bastardize a good set of 2.5 heads.

I have some also and would love to get another set of 2.5 heads. I will even cut them to the CC's you want them if you want to trade. Just a thought.......
