303 Aerospace Protectant is what I use and it works very well. They have a full line of cleaners and protectants.

Any decent all purpose will do the job,the key is to use a scrub brush to get into the grain of the vinyl, use circular motions and do small sections at a time and wipe clean quickly...303 is good stuff as are others. You want to use a product that will be dry to the touch and not be a dirt magnet...I usually wipe surface immediately after applying protectant to knock down gloss...protectant wise the vinyl still gets what it needs!

I agree on the magic eraser, but they need a whiping with vinyl cleaner after as the erasers leave a lil residue after

Try Bleche White . White wall tire cleaner (no bleach) . Works great and not expensive . Most auto parts stores have it . Very easy , just spray it on , soft brush , and rinse .

Helmut - my buddy used the castrol super clean on the interior of his Checkmate. He used it a few times a year and it dried the vinyl out horribly. It's all he used and he used it full strength. Of course it cleaned like you can't imagine but I think even diluting it would still be to harsh. I tried it twice last year and it noticably dried mine out to. Like you said, it works great but its harsh stuff.
I bet simple green would have the same effect, it would just take longer.

I know walmart has it in gallons. not sure where else. I used to buy it at k-mart and pep boys.

I think I must have tried them all, and I haven't found anything better than Griot's Interior Cleaner on vinyl - or upholstery or carpet for that matter. It cleans like crazy, but yet it's not harsh, and won't take off something you don't want it to. I do a lot of detailing (6 vehicles & boat), and I have to say everything that Griot's makes is amazing stuff.
Vinylex is good for a protectant, but 303 is better in a marine/outdoor environment, IMO.

no magic eraser,no spray nine," All Off " is the only product I will use.manufactured by gaunt products. this little tip is from a highly qualified interior seamstress.

Avoid high alkali soaps like the Casrol, Westleys, Fantastic, 409 and so on. They will dry out the Vinyl but will eat the Nylon thread that was used in older seats. Your seats will be clean but will fall apart faster.
I made lots of $ redoing boat interiors that fell apart due to over zealous owners. Hence the name "Stitch King".....
I use a mild dish soap, a fine bristle detail brush and lots of water to make sure all of the soap is off. Any soap left behind on the seats will act as a magnet for filth due to the negative Ions which are constantly looking for dirt to attach themselves to.

A good friend of mine has be building custom hot rod and boat interiors for more than 30 years. He told me about mineral spirits 10 years ago. Zero damage to the vinyl. The stuff feels new after a quick wipe.

Years ago my dad brought the rear seat back of his boat inside for the winter, put it on his summer tires, which were in bags. Spring comes and he has perfect Michilen imprint on the seat, blead through the bags. Tried every thing we could get our hands on, got most out but still could see it. At the time I was working for GM and they had a new cleaner " spray cleaner P/N 10952219 " it got it out and made the white look new. Used it full strength with soft brush, then went over with water, seems pretty strong. Used Zymol vinyl conditoner diluted 50% with water, stuff is real expensive. After that diluted GM cleaner 50% and used Zymol after to protect.
That tire oops was in 92 to this day still looks new and no problems with stiching.

Just be careful and read the ingredients, any bleach, chlorine, or alkali or acids are a no, no. Some will clean the vinyl real good but attack the threads. Can't tell you how many seats I've seen with great vinyl and the thread gone.
Common bleach is the worse.

Hotpony891 has the best answer AWESOME is the best cleaner. It is not a bleach product.Use as you buy it.Spray on area to be cleaned.Best if area is dry first and in shade.Let sit a few min. scrub off with damp clean cotton rag.Protect with 303 or miguires products after.Awesome is found at Dollar Tree Stores only as far as I know.It gets rid of the black mildue or rust or just about any thing.Cat Puke. At $1.00 a bottle.I use it for just about anything. The yellow bottle is best for boat seats the orange might work best on greese.I don't own stock in Dollar Tree Store or Awesome. It's just good stuff at any price.

Malco Leather and Plastic cleaner. It is good stuff! I looked them up on the web and got in touch with a local distributor in my town. It doesn't work as a spot cleaner because it cleans so deep it will make the rest of the fabric look dirty.
