Sheer- I am having one built now. Going to do twin 250's (at least thats the current plan )

The first one built is owned by my neighbor’s son. When I went for a ride, the boat was doing about 61 with 3 people in it and the 300 suzuki on the back . My neighbor constantly stresses the same thing... it handles real well, does nice in turns, and has a nice smooth and dry ride and is great on gas

When I did my test drive with JC (same set up- 300 Suzuki 4 stroke), I was impressed with the low planning speed and it was slicing through a pretty decent chop that day with no problem. I also liked the acceleration on it in the 40-50 mph range. Its definitly a little different being in a CC doing 60+ (at least for me), so I am opting to go with Bolsters with drop down bottoms as opposed to a leaning post.

John Coen drove one around Long Island in about 7 ½ hours and used about 73 gallons of gas if I remember correctly (I think its like 260 miles or something in that range)

What do you think it will run with 2x250's?

So what made you decide to go with twins instead of a big single?

So what made you decide to go with twins instead of a big single?

Primary reason was speed. Wanted something more then the 60-65 mph the 300 Suzuki could push the boat at, thought about doing a single 350 verado, but talked to a few people who had them and reviews were mixed,. Also, the 350 verado is considered a race engine by merc, so its a 2 year warranty, were I can get a 5 year warranty on the regular opti's.

Please do. I love this boat, but I would want the back finshed with a swim platrform and bench seat. Also the console could be a little bigger with storage under it? Are options like this available? I'd think it would be on a 30' cc. Fuel consumption is unbelievable! I could make it from home to Key West on less than 35 gallons.

I'm with Insanity. Nice boat, could be perfect for So. Fla.
Maybe a little lounge area in the front or cuddy/lounge like Intrepid.
Long distance with low gas consumption and great ride.
Yea Baby!

Will there be one at the Miami Boat Show?

Sheer-

There is actually a bench seat option for the back that I am doing. Its a removable bench seat so if you need it, you can throw it in, and if you dont want it that day, you can just leave it on the dock.

There are several console options they have. My neighbors is pretty big, and you can flip the front up and its all storage. Overall, the boat has lots of storage between the front locker and the floor locker in front of the console

And with the swim platform, a stainless marine setback with the swim platform integrated into it would seem perfect for the single engine application, (and I believe the plan is to do some setback on the boat they took around LI, which John said should get it up to 65). I went back and forth for weeks on whether I wanted the platform and a full transom or a small splashwell and much less setback and ultimiately decided to do the small splashwell for a variety of different reasons.

Ultimately, Superboat is a custom boat builder, and I have heard from John constantly the last month or so ..."yup,if if you want it, we can do it, just matters how much you want to pay to have it done"

I like the lounge area in the front idea, I am going to look into having a cushion built for up there that I could pull out if I wanted

As far as I know, there are no plans for Superboat to be at the Miami Boat show
