Spark plugs ?????

Figured I"d change the plugs on my 81 V225 Merc. Go to a local Mercury dealer and give the kid at parts counter my engine specs. Looks it up on the computer and gives me the plugs. NGKs in Quicksilver boxes and I'm on my way. Pull my plugs out. All BU8H. Checked NGKs web site and this is what they spec as the right plug. The ones that I was given were BUHW. Is this Mercs own special plug identifier or did the kid give me the wrong plugs? Also this is the first time I ever saw a NGK plug with no heat range number. What's up with that?

The BUHW will work, but the BU8H is hotter and will be less likely to foul.

Went back and had them punch it to the computer again and sure enough it said BUHW. Ran great with what it had so i exchanged them for the BU8H.
