try going up to even and see if it helps. i run mine between even and 3/16" up. 6 inch plate and all the weight in the back. factory lip still on the pad that measures around .053" in the center

Like Erik said...Motors To Low!! The wedges would most likley make it worse if anything. What offset are you running? The XR2002 really likes about 9" of offset. Also What gearcase? CLE's don't do very well on those boats...just in case thats what you are running. One last thing, what prop? Mite need a little more bite. Hope that helps. Mike T.

One more quick question...is your boat a center steer or side steer? If it is a side steer...Put approx. 40lbs exactly opposite from your seat. Boat will run straight even with a passenger.

Sounds like a good set-up...change the throtle cable, and raise the motor.

im short legged imma just move the pedel back 3 inches and it should give the run i need to to raise the motor up it is a center steer so putting say a sand bag in one of the side compartment to my right or left the boat breaks over hard to the left so puttin it to the right would be about right am i correct by saying that?

If it's a center steer boat, you shouldn't have to add any counter weight. I had my old comp model XR set up as side steer so I carried counter weight so I could run by myself. Raise the motor, and that should take care of it. I ran the motor way high...a little higher than the center of the drain hole...and it drove very good!

if i'm in a midrange speed with the trim tucked and get in the gas the boat will lean(same as any other vbottom with decent power) but it straightens up as soon as i hit the trim. after that the boat runs straight and level. my weight in my boat is all centered. start raising the motor up in 1/4" increments. your probably gonna end up around even to 1/4" above depending on your prop and typical load.

how far are you trimming the motor in? have you tried planing off w/ the trim slightly above full negative position?

yeah ive played with it at all the diffrent trim angle is stil breaks hard til u come up pretty high on the trim i dont have a trim gauge to tell the exact angleive been playin with the dephts of the motor til i ran into the cable issue but ill get back on it tomarrow and raise it a lil at a timeimma start at a 1/4 above where its at now i still have sum what of a whale tail its gotten a little better rooster til but still sum what of a whale tail

i would start by putting the batt right in the center.. in front of your feet ..the xr 2oo2 's that i've drove tend to be back heavy in my opinion with that much setback
just me thinking

so most people put there batt in the nose in the center? mines in the back in front of the fuel tank

We usually run them in the back of the boat. I ran mine there for 21+ years. Tyner runs his in the back....he just ran 121+ with a 280 so it must work!...I can't remember seeing but one xr2002 with the battery in the frount. Now, on the S.S.2000 Allison runs battery cables to both the frount as well as the back, and when I was setting my boat up, I asked where to put the battery, the opinion was about 50/50 so I put the batteries in the back. I just don't like the idea of a battery being up frount in a boat. Just My Opinion.

I was thinking the same thing but i seen a pic of that blue xr 2001 drag and his was in the front but so far his is the only one ive seen imma keep mine in the back to i think the front bouces around alot and that battary near my feet doesnt sound like i want it there i mean its only about 25 lbs and who knows it might make that much of a diffrence but for safety i think imma keep it in the rear

i like my whole boat out of the water ...not just the front..i dont know if your trying to get the biggest numbers or running buoy 2 buoy ....but if you've ever compared the diff in throwing the xr 2002 and xb 2002 in the corner you would know what im talking about....the xr 2001 and xr 2002 balance is very different also the xb 2002 ....
just my opinion
