1996 Mercury 150 Carb gas in remote oil tank

There is gas getting into the remote oil tank.The only way I think it can be getting in is through the pulse hose. Why would there be that much fuel to be picked up by the pulse hose?

Excess fuel may not be getting sucked up to the top bearing.
