What is the main difference between marine 2 stroke injection oil and 2 stroke oil for your dirt bike/atv ?

so if Im running in the summer months (warm) in fresh water, would it be safe you use non-marine type 2 stroke oil ?
my boat sits indoors when not in use in a heated garage

Always run TCW-3 in an outboard 2 stroke. Made for that purpose. The diff is in operating temperature on the motors, for a clean burn.
TCW is made for water cooled motors. (The "W"). Air cooled motors, use the dirtbike oil.
They say don't use TCW in air cooled, but I've never had a problem with my chain saws, blowers, etc. But NEVER dirtbike oil in a boat

Yep... Aircooled engine oil doesn't burn completely in a cooler water-cooled engine....

 Without getting into the chemistry of oil, and a clean burn..(way out of my league anyway)..seems that TCW, is meant to burn clean, after doing the bearing work, at a certain combustion temp the jug.
Air cooled run a hotter CYL..
Best I say here...and ya have to know just how "Slug Rings" work, under pressure ....the CYL pressure on a fire the plug, has massive energy. It forces the rings, out..for a seal. Theres a slight angle on rings..(why all are marked."UP")..(by the way..ALWAYS "Ring Gap"..to spec, any rebuild)
Now, pressure hits the rings, and forced out to the wall, off the "Lands"..piston. Thats yer seal. Then a "retract", and draws the oil/gas mix up out the crankcase..repeat.
NOW, run the wrong oil? Well, it "Cokes" the rings.(think carbon crap)...and then stick in the lands. There goes any "seal"!
Get my drift?
Best I can say..??.."oil cheap, motors pretty pricy..last I looked.
(This gonna turn into to an "oil thread"..see it coming:thumbsup:)

thanks for the info. I have about 5 gallons worth of Torco GP7 (smokeless) synthetic. I still have (1) 2 stroke ATV left in my fleet (the rest are all 4 strokes now). So I will eventually use it up.
