Just pulled off a blown 2002 Mercury XR6 outboard and now what do I do with it.
For those not following the previous thread the #6 rod broke and destroyed the block, block is TOAST :mad:
I replaced it with a 200hp Merc EFI so all is good except my wallet.
Should I keep the XR6 for parts for my EFI? What fits?
Post up!

Almost everything is the same . Crank Pistons , Rods , all the same . Block is the same aslo ,with the exception of a releive slot cut at the top of the exhaust ports . Also , The mid and gearcase are the same .

With the high price of replacement parts sounds like it's worth keeping.
Do you know if the stator is the same too?
The ignition coils are different but I wonder if they are compatible with the EFI?
