This is a little different than most threads on here but I thought it might be of interest to some from the rigging standpoint . This is an older Bertram 28 that a customer from Rhode Island who also resides in Englewood , FL had us build an upper station for . Sure came out nice and is in the rigging stages now . Check it out .

About a week on and off with Doug and I chiming in ..then lots of welding . The seat folds , the Buggy Top and rear shade are both removable so the fitting alignment and fit up has to be just right .

You are a master at your craft sir. Very well done Tom.

The boats I was building are based on a 25' Bertram of the same era but strecthed to a 28' w/reverse chines, a pad and more beam.
One of the best designs of all time and still comparable to the best of today.

Nice tube work. Also great to see well made canvas on a boat. I used to bend up tubing for boats all the time (biminis, dodgers, awnings etc) but never did get into the welding side of it, it's an art! There's nothing more satisfying than getting the proportions of a bimini, awning or whatever just right for a boat, it really completes a boat.
I'm also a bug fan of older 25/28 Bertrams, they were built for a long time over here, carrying on under the Carribean name well into the 90's from memory.
I wish people over here would have learnt to pay more for quality work, I used to really enjoy doing canvas work like that, but if the money isn't there, well.........:(

Regards, Andrew.

I installed a thru hull transducer in an old bertram 28 ',The hull was 1" thick solid glass... These boats will be around forever. Nice alum work, compliments the boat very well....
