I'm considering purchasing a 21' Talon that is experincing cracks
that begin at the front of the boat's top deck where the sponsons
complete a 90 degree from the flat of the center of the top deck.
These cracks continue up the deck at this transition area towards the cockpit about 10 or 12 inches. And on the port sponson a
crack also follows up the vertical of the sponson about 3/4 to
1 inch. The cracks appear to be only in the gel but, are somewhat
deep, with only the 3/4 to 1 inch crack on the vertical that looks
like it has fractured the glass! Is this " sponson cracking " a trait
for tunnel boats in general, or could it be charectoristic of early
Talon boats,or just abuse by previous owners? Is this a problem
that can be eliminated with traditional glassing and gel or will
it possibly return unless more structure is built into it's repair?
Are there any other Talon owners out there with this same
problem? How was it fixed? Or should I just pass this one by
and consider myself lucky that it got away! Any help with
this delima would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply!
