Considering a skater to be my next boat. How much does a 21 weigh. Also would like to use for long cruise runs of say 40-70 mph is porposing a problem and is it a dry ride as far as spray is concerned. Really trying to decide between a progresion 22 or a skater 21--both with 300hp. Thanks in advance.

Interested too, seeing as I just bought one (Skater)

The weight according to Skater with a 2.5 is about 1900lbs.

"40-70 mph is porposing a problem" No... just cruise along at 75mph or 50mph

"porposing" decreases to almost none as the chop kicks up.

Drive one BEFORE you buy one! Regardless of what you buy.

Two boats that ride a drive like nothing eles out there. At the min get a ride in one before you buy one. Both will need alot of time behind the wheel before you can push them to the limit.

I just bought a 21 Trick ( similar to a skater) with a 300XS had is for a month or so now, once you learn how to run it, its a pretty cool boat. Im in really calm water, everyone says its best with a little chop.

As for cruising speeds Euroski hit it right on.

Enjoy. MB

Question for you Skater Guys

There is a K in my serial number, does that mean kevlar?
Also I have a 15" 2005 Drag setup for pump gas, I know the Powerboat mag skater 21 had a 15" 260 (the one before had a 2.4). Any thoughts on how it might run?

No I think the orange one your referring to is a "Extreme" boat not a "Trick" (both Skater type boats) do your home work on the two , I did and decided on the Trick 21. I did not own a Euroski.

I had a 20'' 280 on mine and it had a good top speed but that's it. I sold it and bought a 300x for it with a drag 30 prop and it was a night a day difference, it got out of the hole a lot faster better mid range, and a little better top end 4mph solo and 7mph with 2 people and as soon as you load the boat up with people forget it the a guy in a fishing boat with a 9.9 johnson is going to pull you for the first 100'!!!

The skater is a way different animal than anything out there.
Picked a '21 up last september and wasn't crazy about it. Now that I've spent time with it, I love it!!!
Only thing I'd consider getting rid of it for would be a '24
