What was the kilo record for that class? I'm guessin' upper 70's or low 80's????? I remember when I first started foolin' with J Production, the JP kilo was 76 and the Sport J was mid 80's if I'm not mistaken. It'd be cool if APBA had those old records listed by year somewhere so it'd be easy to see how they progressed. I remember SJ took about a 10 MPH leap fairly suddenly when the low water pickup gearcases and cleavers came along.
Really cool video. Thanks for sharing.

Cool ride!! Old Fiberglass is right, shifting a Bp lower with the engine running is like scratching your fingers on the chalkboard!

and you had a 50-50 chance of blowing up the lower unit.

I don't recall the shifting rpms ,this was the 1st time I ran it and the gears did blow. I'm not sure if I did it or the mechanic from the dealership I bought it from. The motor belonged to the dealer and was being used by one of his mechanics on the Molinari. Motor had never been for sale before ,they acted a little odd at the time . I knew I had a problem when I got home the next morning grease was leaking out the side of the case. It took out the propshaft seal leaked water in and froze splitting the case. Got a SSM from Fred Wolfe that winter and ran it that way after that. I have 2 good BP cases and most of the parts to rebuild them.I have another video taken the following summer after I refinished the boat with the SSM I'll post them soon.I still have the Molinari ,it's close on my list of rebuilds! To go thru the archives and make up a list of the records for each class year by year would be a monumental task. It would probably take someone a month to do.
If you'd like to pay, I could do it
