Just get a 1500 or an XS. Although a 1500 powerhead won't bolt up to your mid keep that in mind. But Thats what im goina be running on my Vandal when its finished:)

No powerhead after '71 (or a '72 115 ONLY) will bolt to your mid. Performance mods for your engine.............. for all practical purposes ZERO. In some of the early years (I'm not familiar with the '68 motors outside the fact that they were the earlier crossflow design combustion chambers as opposed to the superior direct charge that came along in 1970) there were some similarities between upper and lower horespowers in a given year, such as 950 and 1250 in the year you're talkin', but tracking down parts and changing them for VERY MINOR performance increases wouldn't be worth your while.

Learn to love it like it is, or upgrade to something newer/stronger.

If its a 95 its a 66 or 67, in 68 the year available power was 100 and 125.

If your motor doesn't make as much power as your boat needs, you will need to go to a V-6. Operating the old higher power inlines is getting to be more trouble than it is worth to the average boater.

A 70 or 71 135 powerhead will bolt up.

The 95 was a 100 with small bore carbs. I think they can be made to run if a small light L6 is needed. A 135 is the easy way out. If ya got skills and low bucks a 90 cid motor can be made to run. Better tha a100 cid? Well it has better chamber shape for fuel and timing settings with the days gas. The rods were the weak link. Just My .02:leaving:

95 was a 110 with smaller carbs. 95 and 110 have longer stroke

I gotta start wearing my glasses, Dave was right the first time, 95 was just 90ci like the 100 and the 110 has bigger bore

I have a dealer rebuilt drop on 135 that has never been fired. The parts & labor were over $1000 some time back and was never picked up by the customer. I'll take $500 + Pack & Ship. That'll make it run.

A 70 or 71 135 powerhead will bolt up.
