:confused: hello everybody,have a little problem i bought a complete mercury motor off of ebay a couple years ago and i just found out that all motors are titled, i did not get a title. i have sent him a message thru ebay but no answer, there is a serial# on it, i hope the guy is honest, hope maybe he didn't know ether, motor came out of florida. what do i have to do to get a title? thank you for your help, fred chambers:cheers:

Motors are only titled in 5 states. Florida does not title or register motors they are sold on bill of sale. Unless something has changed in the last year or so. If your state does not title motors then don't worry. If you are in a titling state call the titling office and ask them what you need to do. Usually a bill of sale is sufficient. I buy engines from Fla. on a bill of sale all the time, I'm in a titling state.

Hate ta say it but your basically screwed in this state. Contact Parks and Wildlife ta find out all tha paperwork ya gonna need ta get together. Its tha notarized "Affidavit (sp) of Fact" that is tha killer. Its a history of tha motor, signed and notarized buy tha original owner. Bill of sale will not work. Even from a Big Name Marine Dealer. P&W are really hard ta work with on this issue. At least tha branch office here is. Good luck on gettin' it done.......T

If the seller don't respond, you'll have a hard time doing this. If you printed the ebay post, you may have a chance. There's a title company in Houston that can and will get you a title.
