Hey all,
I'd like to try a 4 blade on my skater 21 with 260 efi, any suggestions?
Performance Props drag 4 looks interesting. 14.5 x 29 or 30?
Thanks

I hear that is a good choice.
I run the Trophy on my tunnel, (yea, I know)......
It does exactly what I want it to do, and all the "right props" don't.
Jack Barsh told me Performance 4 blade is the right one for me, but they are kinda pricey.

I run a Bravo I on my 22 Cougar. It seems to like being half out of the water.

29 OR 30 you better have all the weight out of the boat and be ready to stand on it for 2 mile's. I would think a 26 maybe a better choice.

It's got a round ear mazco 29 on it now, but it is a three blade

I sometime;s run a 29pitch merc tempest on my stv it is alittle hard on plain it won;t slip at all and really grabs the water even real high but runs and cruise's real nice have ran it up to 125mph but don;t really like the way the boat feels when you punch it through midrange boat does some weird stuff till it settle's down. might work well on a heavier boat like a skater. Dave,
Did you drill the hub, or just run it as is?

The Tempest is a great prop and very fast ,my 29 Tempest is one of the favourites ,add a Hydromotive to your list .

Ok, does Hydromotive build them, or just modify them.

Hydromotive build some of the best props around IMO ,check out their web page ,there are usually some for sale in the classifieds here, I find them very durable and tuneable if thats a word .

I have a performane propeller 30p drag 4 on my 21 cougar with a 300pm.I like it,but you have to run the engine height, with the nose of the drive about 1in above the pad.I can still run 90mph gps, with three adults and two tanks of fuel.I would call the guy at performance propeller in soddy daisy, tenn. He will be able to steer you in the right direction.

I Ran a 32" Merc ET on my 21 Trick with a 300XS. Good for 103 on GPS.

I went to try this hydromotive Q1v this weekend and it seemed to hit up against the gearcase. According to Todd at Hydromotive, I've got the right thrust washer(stepped mercury) that fits into the back of the hub, but it doesn't slip into the gearcase.
I couldn't feel much dumber than I do right now!!!
I cleaned the unit up, and found there was a blow out ring attached, what an idiot I am LOL
Anyway, Q1v is on, and I'm looking for an early out work day to test,,,,LOL

I have a Hydromotive that hits the bearing carrier lock nut.......but not on my other case.
I measured and the propshaft is further in on that gearcase ???
What would cause that?
I assume it it wasn't set up right, it would't last, but I never get much metal on the magnet when I change oil.

It ran 82 today with wife, son and 30 gallons of gas in the boat. Just myself and a good load of gas was 88.
The Q1v runs real good, needs more, or bigger vent holes. It was a slob getting out of the water.
Porpoised from about 45 to 72, feels like the bow is trying to push the stern down into the water, then it felt like the stern got up on top and she started to go, felt real loose and free. The higher I went with the engine, the freer(is that a word) she felt. In other words, it felt REAL GOOD :reddevil: :D
What are you 21 Skater guys using for a prop. I'm still not convinced the stern drive type wheel is the way, need more seat time with it, but I do like the diameter of this prop.
Any feedback on those mph's.
Thanks guys,,,,,,winter is coming soon. Got the Thundercat out saturday ;-) The Klotz smelled real good

For what it's worth...............
2001 Liberator, 3.0L Merc 225EFI, MAD EFI, WOLF V500 ECU, Performance 30P Drag 4, 15" of set back. Great hole shot and top end with 2 in the boat and about 25 gallons of fuel. Boat went 104 MPH/GPS when it belonged to the previous owner, Stitch King.

My go-nads aren't quite that big :nonod:, still getting a feel for it. Mid 90's is as fastest as I've had it one time before getting out of it. Got a new motor coming in a couple of weeks and it will be spring before I can get some more seat time. There's no reason I can't do triple digit's eventually since I'm hang'n on a bigger motor.......:reddevil:
