I came across a 1970 CT-15. Nice original condition with a 135 inline on it. Seller says make an offer. Any idea as to what a value range for this thing might be? This is a tough one because there is nothing to compare it to. I'd love to have the boat if I don't have to take a second mortgage out on my house to get it.

Essentially one of a kind ... I'd say the seller can set his price.
I'd offer him $3,000 if I had it. He might be able to get twice that much on eBay - $15,000 would be delusional.
This is another rig I'd like to see at the Antique Raceboat Regatta next August in Clayton NY

Alright then if the seller is reasonable then I would be in the realm with an offer. That number is what I had in the back of my mind.
I'd love to get something like this to take to some of the antique boat shows over the summer. I would have to find a period correct racing Mercury for it though.

She's on eBay now
A discrepancy ... motor is described as a 135, but has 100 stickers; not really a big deal. It would just mean it was raced in I instead of J

I've noticed something else as well. This certainly seems to be an earlier version, the vent holes in the back of the cowling seem smaller than some of the Glastron/Carlson CT's. Maybe the mold was changed for some reason. I don't know if 1902 indicates the second one made, if it was 1502, I'd be more favorable to the guess. Maybe Fielder knows.

He must not have liked the offer I made. LOL.
The owner says it is the second or third one made so it is a very early one.
I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Just saw this on ebay and was going to post a link.

I looked at my Glastron-Carlson original brochures from 1969,1970 and 1971 that show 2 different boats driven by Dick Sheer and they do not have the little vents behind the driver on the rear cowl. Nothing to lose your check book over, rear cowls are commonly redesigned for various reasons. Wish it was a BP on the transom instead of the old I class Merc1000 like the brochure shows then we would have MONEY.

$3201 and reserve not met ... he's going for the gold
In the end he may wish he accepted your offer

I had a 6K snipe set, but it now it has a 6K bid so I'm going to have to re evalulate where I want to go here. It would be a nice piece to have to go fast with an inline.

4 days left to go ... OPC stuff has been inching up in value the past 18 months or so, without regard for the scary economy
Looks like the seller and bidders both watch Screamandfly

I'm out. 6k was my max.
I'll have to keep my eye out for something else.
I had no clue what this was worth but I think we might all be suprised with this one.

You were dead on with your value estimate too.
I'm actually kind of upset I didn't get it. Those things don't come up for sale every day.

Well out of almost 5,000 people interested, only 3 thought it was worth that much, the seller, the high bidder and the second highest bidder.
The third bid back was only $3,250, pretty much what I told you to offer
