I never heard of that website before, cool! I love the east pearl. My uncle has a house on the MS. side about a block south of the HWY 90 bridge. Nice wide freshwater river with little to no traffic. Great for wide open runs.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Just to let ya'll know there is a public launch on the MS. side of the river. Take a left on the street immediatly after the bridge and it is a few blocks up. You have to take another left right after the fire station. It is a nice concrete ramp and has a lot of new dock space

Cool. I din't kow that, but think I've noticed the canal leading to it from the river. I just figured it was a private canal, though.

P.S. Got family in Ponchatoula and hope to move that way someday.....sooner than later.

The launch is not on a canal, it is right on the river. Just north of the bridge on the MS. side. Actually it is really close upriver from that HUGE house that is on the river north of the bridge. Really nice launch and a lot of parking area. My uncle has a 38 formula and he launches there with no problems. The launch is on Monroe St. which is off of hwy 604.

Love Ponchatoula, I actually live about 2 miles from Madisonville so i live on the very extreme eastern end of it. We are close to the Tchunfuncha(sp)? River. Love the beach and the river. Always a good time!

Okay, well I'll have to go look for the launch on Monroe. My sig pic was taken from the Miss side just right up from where your talking about, actually. The other launch can get pretty hectic..especially when they have a bass torunament going on. Last time out, in fact, we arrived in the middle of their weigh in. Talk about a combat launch. Everybody was pretty good about it, but I didn't want to be in the way so way dropped and dashed quickly.

Yeah, your in the part that I would prefer not to live in. Very nice that way, but I still want to be convenient to Metairie/work, etc. and really don't want to do the Causeway thing daily. I'd much prefer taking 55/10 into th backside. My folks, brother, sister live on the westside. Right on/off 22. Very convenient and nice area, as well.

Hope you can make it out for the 30th. Just a little get together. Your right, the E. Pearl is a hidden gem.

You are defintly correct 55 is much better to drive than the causeway, plus you save 2 or 3 bucks per day! :iagree: Yeah when they have a bass tour. there it is packed. Some times i like to mess with those guys as they come up the river, but they have some pretty fast boats!

We were at the swing last time out there hanging out and a Bullet came flying by. Had a 300 on the back. He was making time, for sure.

I fished this weekend again down in Magnolia. Had a roug h time of it. That storm Friday really muddied up the marsh Saturday. Funny how my best day/time ever was Weds. followed by my worst on Saturday. Oh well... I didn't get skunked, at least.

Doesn't matter now!! It's time to get it on! Looks like at least 12 boats have committed so far. I know a few scragglers will show up, too.

jlay, I think this is the Monroes St launch your refering to that I have pinpointed in the lower part of the image below. Looks like this image was right after it was storm damaged, or maybe during construction/reconstruction.

What about the marina I have marked in the upper portion. Is it a private marina? Does it have a pay launch, fuel, store?

Yes, That is the boat launch. It is totally redone and is very nice. I don't know anything about that marina. I could ask and try to get some info on it.

Ahh! It'll be fine bnb. Hell, I can guess juist as good as a meterologists can! I say that little cool front will come on through saturday night and make sunday perfecto.

My bracket came in today so it's time to mount some auxillary "trodes"!

Only 4 more days. I need to get out and hit the gas. I'm kind of tired of paddling around the mrash chasing tales with the kayaks.....
