The Seneca race was a huge success but it failed because of the uphill battle the lady from the chamber of commerce there had to fight to make the race happen. I wish I could remember her name but she indicated she didn't have the energy to do it again. This was aperson who to my knowledge had never been invoved in an event of this type but made it happen. So it seems even success and hard work is not a guarantee for longevity any more. A very few people can still dictate what happens in a community. I talked to Galen Burden last week and he said the Plymouth race was going to be much like Seneca and the entire area around the race site for miles was pitching in. HMMMM, I wonder if the good people of Daytona were all for "Big Bill" building the Speedway back in 1958? Sometimes you can show them better than you can tell them.
