Got run off the road and smashed the boat/truck:mad::eek::mad:...Don't know what I'll do now...hope the insurance company will give me close to what it was worth, and not NADA book.
Looking for another one...keep your eyes open for a pristine Rocket for me:thumbsup:...don't know if it can be repaired.

Have it fixed. It looks like the cap took most of the damage. I would think you could have someone like Jack or AFR fix it.

i came up to a rise in the road, and there was a guy in my lane...it was head-on, or head for the ditch...the ditch won.

That sucks bad. Don't let the insurance company screw you. If they try to give you NADA, just prove to them that money wouldn't fairly replace or repair the boat. This happens all of the time, and you just have to stand your ground.

08-11-2009, 03:26 PM
Kart...just talked with Ins Co. I told the guy that the appraiser was gonna have trouble getting a value...he was very cordial, and said if i can come up with proof of value, they would make adjustments, much like a show car or something.
I'll hope for the best.
I've already printed off about a dozen ads from S&F with River Rockets, and Pro Comps, but I've got thousands of $$ in bottom mods also.
i will probably give Jack B. a call at F.T.P. I've talked with Wally, and he said Jack can work majic, as have others here on the board already sending me PM's regarding his fine repair work.

Thanks
G

That suck, at least you made it out alive. I've had good luck in the past doing like you have allready done by copying sale adds so they can see what it will take to replace it.

Jack can fix it. It looks like a Supersport Boat from 2001-2002 seasons, only not as bad as many race wrecks.
Sorry for your loss but I've seen Jack fix much worse! You will be in good hands

Glad you are Ok, but sorry to see, and yes you need to stand yer ground with the insurance. It sounds like you are getting good advise...but all you have to do is prove the worth of your boat (to you) before the mishap (which shud be ez with our contacts) and they should be able to meet you fairly...BTW...don't look at it for too long like that...it can make you feel worse...All the best

Nice to hear you are fine. Sorry for your loss on the boat.

I was sideswiped years ago when I had a Glastron GT150. State Farm covered it as part of my vehicle policy. They said because it was being towed on the road the towing vehicle insurance policy would cover it.

Nice thing was, I did not have a claim on my boat insurance so I didn't have to worry about getting dropped after they paid.

WOW Greg, really sorry to hear the BAD NEWS. Hope you can get it fixed (maybe better than new) I know that boat would be a hard one to replace. I bet if you buy BFD tons of beer, he'll let you ride around with him  !! Good luck with everything...............Scott

Sorry to hear of your forced accident. People seem to be in such a hurry out there on the 2 lane roads. Looks like you at least kept it right side up. That helps.

Some insurance companies will consider the trailer and the vehicles on the trailer as part of the vehicle and under the vehicle insurance policy. Hope your rates don't go up from this.

Man Greg, you've had a run of bad luck. I'm soooo glad to read you are ok...the boat can be replaced, lives can not. I hope Jonny Law catches that no good SOB, probably drunk or high.

Hey everyone...thanks for the posts...makes me feel a bit better, and excited to talk with Jack at FTP.

REX...I'll take you up on that...bring one to the ex-Rumble, I'll pop the motor off the RR and bring it down:D:D:reddevil::D:icon_bs:

Scott, BFD (Big Fat Dan), was so upset when I called him at Torch, he hung up on me.

Maybe I can pick up this boat for cheap...It's my Nephew's, sunk a couple weeks ago at the dock...huge waves over the transom.

The other guy kept going...never stopped...I hope to see him again.
This was on a 2 lane county road, near the trailer park we stay at...narrow road, no shoulder.

I just called my normal insurance agent, and they came up with a policy for me. I've had one since 1990.

Thanks
Greg

Man, that is bad news. So sorry for you, but glad you are not hurt physically. From the headline, I was afraid it was a wreck on the water, glad that did not happen. I assume Mi is still a no fault insurance state, where everyone's policy covers their own, so the other guy's policy would not cover anyway. I had a guy run into my Haulmark trailer up there on the road, and my Indiana agent had to cut the check, even though the other guy was clearly at fault. Good luck.

GGtrain that stinks. Keep on the insurance company. I just totalled a car and got over book value based on providing them with every comp available in the same year and mileage range. Same should be able to be accomplished with a boat. Provide as many similar ad's of similar boats for sale as possible, or boats that have recently sold in similar condition and also explain the difference in condition can be pretty huge with a toy like this. Good luck. Glad you are ok.

What a shame Greg.

Good thing you had some insurance.
Whenever I call about ins. all I hear is hysterical laughing and a click.

Did you see the other vehicle at all ?
Any chance of locating that guy and making him pay ?
How about putting a sign along side the road at the site and offer reward money ?

G-Train. Sorry to see the STV "after" pictures. I've ruined a few hulls over the years, delaminations, barrel roll at 95 mph, drowned three 2.5's when boats made it to ramp but couldn't get trailer in, and I'm just about through finishing repairing the DR20 that RacerX drove for me at Kosh a few tears back. Don't despair! Everytime the boats got fixed, they were better than before. You're now FREE to try all those little "I wonder if I changed..." ideas now because what's to loose? go for it, by yourself or with the help of others. Maybe Rich S has some carbon fiber left over and can get half the Bayou Boyz to come help you put a 2002 Ally pad on the "Rocket"?!?!? Put a lawn mower motor on the trailer and use it tomorow as a Cash for Clunkers" trade-in, but take off the nice aluminium wheels first.
Seroiusly, I feel for Ya and hope it all works out for the best. You always wished me the best of luck, now it's my turn!
