A friend of mine has an Alison 2002XB with a 280ss on it. He has his set back at 11" and the propshaft 1/8" below the pad. He has tried the height all over the place and says that it handles the best there. He has tried 5 different props and says the Hoss Triton 1 is the best all around prop for that boat.

Try asking on the message board at http://allisonowners.com/ and make sure to register your rig. There are a few XTBs around but I've never heard of one with that much engine. You could also check with Jim Barnes at the factory. http://allisonboats.com/
