Another newbee hoping to tap knowledge!

I bought this boat about 4 years ago. Its called a hydrocraft XR-1. I cant find any info on the origin or manufacturer. I'm putting the 30 hp evinrude back on it and I need info or help trying to figure how the steering mechanism was set up. So I'm hoping somebody may be able to direct me from this impasse I'm at. This is about a 9' craft and made of fiberglass. I had previously found plans on how to make a wooden one real similar, but I dont recall where. Any help would really be appreciated. This is my first posting and I'm not sure I can show the steering shortcoming (missing pieces?). Thanks, all. JennyJ.

hi JennyJ, first of all welcome to scream and fly. I am sure someone here will be able to help, but it might be helpful if you post some pics to show us what you are dealing with.

don't believe anything rex says.... unless it comes to anything to do with motors, then there is no one better. You just might have to Get Bobby Bouche', the water boy, to translate for ya. :smiletest:
