I switched from 280's to 250xs's and I must say I am impressed with the 250xs's. My best run before was 105 mph with the 280's and right now I am at 98.9 mph with the 250xs's and I think I can get 1 or 2 more. Smooth running and uses alot less fuel, seems to be about a 1/3rd less fuel. I also use 87 Octane instead of 93 and I have a 2 year warranty!!!!!!

For me it was no comparisson I am very happy with the switch.

I know one guy rigged a 2007 30' Motion with 300xs's and was running right around 105mph.

simon can change the limiter and lighten the flywheel but mine is still under warranty it only turns up to 6400 so it should last at least 1500 hours I hope plus the midrange is unreal!!!! I can still tow someone in on a plain!!!

I wonder what your most efficient speed is? So miles/gallon and what speed it does at that spot?

That is a real killer combo! Wish I had the funds to put one of those on my HST!

Sorry for the hijack:o

I know of two guys up here that have been running 1998 300 ProMax's. One is on a '91 Hydro Stream Voyager and the other is on a '96 Mirage. Both motors are still running with no major problems. I thought they told me they had their gear ratios changed so they could run smaller props but I could be wrong about that? The guy with the Mirage gets his best speeds with a Lab 34P cleaver but he brakes them a lot.
