A day all to myself, no wife and no kids! Just a full tank of gas and a 6 pack chilling on ice... What a day!!

My boat is docked at a buddy's house on a lake that is connected to 6 other lakes by channels. So, I said, "Today is the day to hit all the lakes." I snagged up my buddy and away we went.

I make it about a mile into the first channel and I see a brand new bass boat being towed by a pontoon, I stopped to see if I could help. The Bass boat had the prop sheared off and there was nothing left but a big blob of goo, where the prop should have been. He said they were fine, so I continued on my way down the channel.

Followed the channel putting along at about 10-15. Coming up behind me is a low riding jetboat. I wave him by (he was fully loaded with passengers) so I guess he was trying to impress everyone with his left hand drive squirtboat! So as he passes us, he flips us off and hammers it, with his "Fire hose" pointed to the sky and drenches us and my boat!! What an ass I said to my buddy, but other than a wet pack of smokes, nothing was harmed. So, I sped up, to dry us off.

We make it to a very low bridge, while under this bridge I have about 1 inch above my motor can to the ceiling of the bridge (if you know what I mean) The guy in the jetboat is still in front of us, and he hoses us again!!!

We continued on at about 10-15mph until we reached another low bridge. The jetboat was waiting for us and yet again he hoses us!

Now I am pissed! So the only logical thing I could think of was to pass him and slow down in front of him! So that's what I did. We were coming into a turn and I cut the apex and shot right in front of him! We come to a narrow part of the channel and I slow down to "No wake speed" just to slow this dumbass down. He can't pass me unless he goes through the lillypads, so I know he won't pass me now! (Jetboat + lillypads=no go)
But guess what, he tries anyway! He can't pass me because he hammered it and he packed his inlet with pads! lol He slows way down and then stops... I just kept going on to the next lake.

I reach a "No wake zone" and guess who comes flying up behind me at about 40... Yup, you guessed it, Squirt man!! He passes me, gets in front of me and douses us again, while he shoots to about 45-50 in a no wake zone!! At the end of the channel sits the local law enforcement!! The cop catches him and forces him to stop.

I came to a stop right next to them and stated the preceding facts to the cop... Yes, I tattled on him! Hee Hee, I wonder how big his ticket was? They took one of the passengers out in handcuffs (too bad it wasn't the driver!)

After watching the show for a few minutes, we then shot across the lake and anchored at the sand bar (the hang out).

Of course, everyone there wanted to know what happened. I guess this boob does this sort of thing all the time!

Half hour of hanging and out here comes squirtgun! He blames me for getting his buddy busted (his buddy was smoking weed) and now wants to fight. I am not going to comply with his demands regardless of his insults. (it is difficult to argue with someone that is arrogant and ignorant) I had enough, I laughed at his bragging of his $15,000 boat and left. Here he comes again and Tried to soak us... I couldn't believe how well my little boat was pulling on his big block, but I outran him!

I went back to the sand bar and he continued running around spraying everyone knowing he had been beaten by a $1,000 boat with a 90hp!!! I got a lot of compliments from my little old boat!

In the midst of his spraying, he sprayed the wrong boat! An off duty county sheriff. The cop chased him down and arrested his stupid ass! I laughed when the cops drove off in his boat to be impounded!

Went back to the sand bar and had a few beers and and some laughs at his expense!

I hope you all enjoyed this!

THATS the best part to me, he may forget the arrest or the fine but I bet he remembers that his $15,000 fire hose got outrun by a 30 year old boat with a 90 hp outboard. Hope somebody got a video....true idiots are all around but you don't always get to put them on YOUTUBE!

Lol, that is a great story. Sounds like Michigan Center, had a cousin that lived on one of those lakes man was that a good run all the way up. Your boat must be way faster than my bayliner (it should be), I can only get 43 gps so far out of the 85hp.:D

His big expensive wiener extension didn't do what he thought it would! I bet his next purchase will be a red Porsche!
Unfortunately, no video... :(

Yup, I guess I was pretty descriptive in my story! lol. I/we started on Center lake and ran all the way to Big Wolf Lake (about 30 min of time)

As far as the speed, you have to know my Glastron is a 15 footer that only weighs 625lbs. I did get 61 gps today, while I was smoking him!

Greg,
Your 'tron won't run in the 60's? We have the same boat, but you have a 115. What are you getting from yours? Maybe it's my prop? (SS Ballistic.) The previous owner told me the motor was "Played with" (port work, all 6 carbs, etc) ...I just blew it off and figured he was blowing smoke, maybe not? I just bought it, so I know very little about it.

I think my buddies I-Phone was correct? I don't know how to "Cheat" with a gps? Maybe it isn't accurate?

I don't know about the rest of you,but if he hosed me down once that would be his Mulligan cuz if he did it a second time he wouldn't have to ask me to fight,he'd get the message loud and clear!I have a long fuse, but when it goes,it goes!!

I try to let things go, I don't let too much bother me. I am new to boating so the first couple times I figured I did something wrong. The last thing I wanted to do was piss this guy off to the point he destroys my boat when it's docked.

If he does it again, I will gladly hand him a handful of bloody Chiclets!

Your motor isn't a 90 if you are running in the 60's. The best you can get with a 90 is maybe upper 40's. I have a prop rated 115 on mine running a chopper and it is dialed in perfect and will get low 60's and that is if you can hang on through the chine walk which can be described as scary.

I wonder what my motor is then? It's supposed to be an '86 90hp. All I have to go by is the decals on the motor. Do you have 3 or 6 carbs on your motor? I have 6.
If you read some of my other posts, I know all about the joys of 'walking! The next purchase is going to be a set of Smart Tabs! I was told by many people the smart tabs will fix "These" boats and eliminate the 'walking problem!

I go by "GT-150" on the "other" forum boards.

Enjoyed the story.

I had a Glastron GT150. The boat ran 38 with the original 1972 80 Mercury on it. No tilt or trim on that motor it was a bear when you pulled the boat into the beach trying to lift that motor up.

I later rerigged with a brand new 1989 Evinrude 100 XP and the boat came alive. It seemed like a rocket. The best speedo readings were 57-58, it was probably truly 53-54.

Those are a great set of lakes there, sometimes I used to drive the ski boat it was awesome. I don't know if my cousin still is on the lake or not, he did have a house on the water and family had an empty lot. I made fun of him because the bathrooms were pink tile, most of those homes been there for a while.

Get us a photo of the motor/carbs, might help. I had my old inline '73 1500 on a 17 checkmate OB with no pad just a vee, 930lb it says in the literature. It should be about the same HP as a newer 115 inline, the old ones were 150-140hp before prop ratings however IIRC the 90 did not have power ports and would not pull as high rpm. Mine would run 6K rpm with a 20P Laser prop and a lot of trim. Motor was raised 2" on transom and a stock 21p prop would blow out with much trim but otherwise showed same rpm/speed. I didn't have a gps back then, calculator says about 50mph and my new speedo said 55. The normal inlines have three carbs, six would be a race motor or someone did a special project to fit them.

A friend had a Glasstron 150, bright orange. He had a 115 Johnson on it and a rotted transom that we replaced. I never remembered it running over 50 MPH.

You dont happen to own a jet boat ...Huh Do Ya????:D

Great story regardless of the facts:eek:
I had a 15 ft Baja that did around 55 with an inline six 115 and an old OMC prop. After I sold it the guy bought a chopper and got it above 60MPH.

Whats the price on a chopper prop?
