This is what I use as a stress reliever after long hours of scraping the old smelly rotten balsa core out of my beloved Vector.Yeah,I know James Dean had one.I am hoping to have better luck with mine than he had with his.Scotty ;)

Great looking car! But I want the Cessna on floats behind it!

Yes its mine and its a Beck.Basically a very accurate reproduction of the original Porsche 550 Spyder. It has a copy of the original frame with a 2165cc VW boxer with dual Webers.160hp/1245lb curb weight. Many original/OE reproduction parts.Hey don't hate me but I also have an Aerobatic airplane called an Extra that I share with 2 other pilots. We fly aerobatic competitions(weird obscure sport)The Cessna is owned by a friend he has to hose it down for about 2 hours everytime he puts it in the saltwater bays of Long Island.Anyhow you can buy a Beck turn key for about 26K plus another 4K and many hours of your own time to get it "historically correct".Its alot of fun and its a major girl magnet. Here are some more pics.OK, you can hate me now, but I saved my pennies for a long time to buy all this crap.;)

Very nice - A nice advantage over an original is you can afford to use it for "stress relief". Have you seen their new Lister?

Thanks for the compliments.Yeah I heard a comment from a guy who drove the Lister, he said "its an animal".As far as real Spyders:they made 90 only about 40 survive and the last one sold recently auctioned for $575,000 so I guess we won't see any on the roads. The Beck is a blast, its a very faithful representation of the original(if anything slightly more refined)and as far as a Sunday fun car you can't beat it.Plus I think SUV's are really boring, give me an open top roadster any day.A buddy here has a Cobra, I can't wait to go cruising with both of them just to see the looks on peoples faces.:)

I spotted one of those at McKees in Palatine (I think) in the 70's. We could not agree on the price. I offered $1000, he wanted $1200. We could not get together. It did not have an engine, but I had a pushrod engine that would fit.

Want to hear my 1951 Mexican Road Race Ferrari story?
