Hey guys im from toms river nj and new to the forum. Im just getting into the high performance boating world and am looking for a nice small under 20' boat that does well in choppy conditions. I really like the STV cats are they any good in rough waters or no. please all opinions are helpful

welcome to S&F ...if youre looking to get into the high performance boating scene youve come to the right place...as far as a good rough water boat in 20' or under id have to recomend the stoker 20 sst...it may not be as fast as the stv but its much more driver friendly/forgiving and handles chop way better. im sure youll recieve some more ideas and opinions...good luck

The real question is "How fast do you want to spend?"

By reputation, the STVs are about as good as it gets in chop. But they are said to mist off the sponsons around 30 mph, if that matters.
Ally's handle the chop pretty good as well. I have one, so I can vouch for that.
