Been a week since I scattered a motor, and I'm bored. If the weather breaks tomorrow like it's supposed to, I'm gonna run my Vector w/the '89 150 XR4. How high can I run this motor w/a stock gear case before running out of water?? Top couple of intake holes are already plugged.
Thanx guys!! Instigator

The only way to know is to read the water pressure guage, if it has one. If it doesn't, spend $70 and put one in!

Just want a ride. If I can go up, and faster, why not? Just thought some of you Stream/merc guys might know off the top of your head??

It's probably not worth messing with unless you can get the gearcase bullet right up at the surface, but, by then all your stock intakes are breathing air and then you'll have 2 scattered motors. I have a 1986 2.0 XR2. It's a cool motor, but I never ran it up high. It was on my 16'8" Baja, a no-pad chine-walking V-hull 63 mph rig. I'm selling it next week.

Thanx for the reply Pyro, kinda figured I was beatin my head against the wall with a stock gear case! And I can't even think about scattering a second motor! 73 is fast enough for now. Just talked to the previous owner, he said he's run 85+ w/a sportmaster on the same motor but jacked to the moon! See Yah, Instigator
