too much time on your hands?its already been done,in my opinion most bass boat hulls sit too low for the added weight.dont anchor over the stern!

Tom Stone put a Cat deisel in his Ranger. Was told it couldn't be done and that was all it took. It ran and was useable but wasn't anything special. Sat kinda low in the tail.

why not just sell off the parts from the inboard and build up a new outboard

Waste of time and money,it will be slower and stern heavy.

Go for it dude. Thats what hot boating is all about. Don`t matter what other people think as long as you enjoy doing it. The 260 is a good power plant and has a nice choppy idle. I would run 4 inch exaust tipp`s through the transom. If it`s been in salt water check the riser elbow`s for rott.

Have fun

yea i like the 260, it pushed this heavy ass 18' chris craft scorpion 55 on GPS.
I gutted the 70s glassstream, removed the rear live tanks. i would hope it would do better than 55

Its a hobby to me, it will be fun to see what happens.

it might take me a while but i will keep it posted.

It would be faster and less work, with a good 2.5 or even a 3.0L.Just my opinion.
