just overhauled my 1983 blackmax 200 ,it has new bearings,rings,carbs rebuilt,ect.cranking compression 120 lbs+ with heads milled .030 and still have stock jets,getting ready to fire up but was wondering what fuel mixture to run 50:1 or ? and what is a good oil (using mercury 2 stroke oil now)?any advise whould be greatly apreciated

Mercury is very good oil... I'd run at 40:1 for the first couple of tanks then go to 50:1 on the smaller bored engines...

I have had good luck runn'in 40:1 in all my river mota's...A lil mo smoke, but it guve ya this warm fuzzy feel'in:D

I use mercury also...:thumbsup:

94 octane unleaded is about the best pump gas i've found,is that about the standard for outboards?i'm just getting into outboards,and would bigger jets help?

94 would be good Most people Saying General Public Use the cheap whatever they can Find Gas !! I use 93 octane ! Then there's the Ethanol/alcohol gas Debate ?
