That would have to be Anthony's boat from Wazzup Racing. That thing rocks.

I'm on the river up there practically every Sunday. Today I couldn't go out. Sorry I missed you guys.

Yeah it was the first time up there with my boat. It was kinda cool ripping thru the slews and under them real low parkway overpasses. NOTE TO SELF be the first one under cause your gonna get wet if you aint. Waiting on a yay nay from Frank on Molefest. That may be my only time up to Long Island this year. Take care

There is nothing like having a great day of boating with a buch of friends that you love and respect. Very relaxing and fun. This was the first time I rode in Mikes boat after all the changes we made, it made a huged difference. Before with me in the boat, it realy struggled to get over 60 mph and it would fall off the pad back on and Mike would realy have to drive this thing for all its worth. Now it excellerates to 65 + with me in it. He never realy rang out yesterday for all it was worth on the top end. It was still pulling and we had a few rpm left so im thinking 68 maybe 69. The boat with out me in it runs 77+. But what a huged difference in handleing and speed. It's not even the same boat. He has excelleration now and handling, very fast and fun boat to be in. Now onto our friends I/O Challenger he's next. EastCoast gave him the same bottom treatment and now I'm building him a one off special super high performance shorten Alpha drive with a fat shaft in it and some new stuff I came up with over the winter. Can't wait to see this run.

Anthony's boat is a blast to run. He said the fastest its ever gone was 107 MPH. He says it was still pulling hard but without trim tabs it won't settle down. I can tell you from 70 to 100mph it feels like you are a projectile.

Buy the look of the way it runs on the pad (just like mine but faster) Trim tabs will be no where near the water so how will that help? Always looking for ideas.

Ven, I'm not sure, thats what he said, but he races offshore boats, this a scale down boat for him. He runs a 38 fountain, close canopy, in the OPA.
I'm not sure what would help, that boat is a freak of nature. As I drove, it felt like we were going way beyond the hull speed that boat was designed for...lol It's just amazing how quick you can accelerate and get to a hundred, it's almost effortless. I think he's getting 740 HP out of that motor, he can twist it to 8,100. Of coarse he builds motors for living...LOL

I will stick my 70 mph Velocity, that's enough for me...lol

Yeah Im just askin cause this hull doesnt have much in the water at speed and I cant see how the tabs would help at high speed. Like RLC said our friend up the street is getting his I/O challenger back together and it will be close to the hundred mark and we took the tabs off that cause they just hung out in the air at speed. I could only see them if they were right next to the pad and I dont think that would work. If he figures it out let us know. Thanks Mike
Here is a before and after pic. See how high they would be.

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing Mike!!

Thanks Dwayne. Your running this style of hull. Do you think tabs would be effective at speed on these hulls that ride on a pad. There cant be much in the water above 70++++

IMHO, the only way to do it would be with a really long tab mounted parallel to the water not the bottom of the hull. You would also have to run them fairly close to the drive, having them just far enough apart to clear the drive at full turns. Just my .02!!

Not a lot of boat in the water @ 70 plus with a pad boat!!!!!

I think that balancing the boat port to starboard is more important than trim tabs. My boat handles so much better when I have another person sitting in the passenger seat. Of course with an outboard you have the to much weight slowing you down problem.;)

Guess I was on the right page with the "long" tabs!! Pretty sure the 380's are 29 inches long!!

There big for sure. That boat with the 750 in it, an old sternpower and a cleaver would run 100 with the tabs set just scraping the water and the drive up just a lil. I wish my boat was in i/o all the time
