I am from Freeport, IL and feel your pain in finding a local shop that is decent. Although not close to you, there is a guy out in Woodbine/Elizabeth area that i take my stuff too. Don't get me wrong, he has made some mistakes on my stuff before, but is very honest and will always do the right thing. He specializes in rebuilding OMC/BRP stuff mostly, but will do any kind of work and has a ton of parts sitting in warehouses. The guys name is Tim Linn, either him or his son Stephen, who does most of the labor, can help you out. Their # is 815-858-3734

There is only one OMC guy who would be the king of what you need,even JWtigre has his things cured by Bill Gohr,and its a done deal...number posted above....Even if it was a merc...
