the sad thing about scrap metal is that most of it has been getting shipped to china for years.they horded it,due to not having the natural resources we do.plenty of it went to the worlds largest building project in tokyo, then i heard they price dropped when the finished the skeleton.i cant verify these statements, but have no reason to doubt the source.if you know of reasons otherwise, please fill us all in.

Dont get me started on the China and Metal thing...............
The company I work for makes medical devices out of titanium(implants) and are now setting up shop in China, I hate it, but need to pay the mortgage, so I will ride it out as long as I can, since they are not the only ones doing this, and eventually it will all be over there. I am on the Engineering and Quality assurance side, so my job is safe thanks to the FDA. Needless to say we have had our share of problems with the quality of the titanium barstock lately:nonod::(

the only thing going out right now is scrap :nonod: (for the most part) it's a wierd enviroment right about now. herd of a scrap metal trader from this area who went to china to follow up on his tranactions and was put in prison. :iagree: LOOKIE HERE, china is not a place to be incarsarated. I've seen lots of lower units, whole motors, etc. being picked up by claw type front end loaders and dumped into compacters, and cringe. then I think, I can't even afford to fix all the units I have, but I'll be damn'd if I'll scrap um, one day they will be a better asset than they are today.:iagree: Rchevelle, I'll be intouch soon, just been thrust back into hell, and fannin the flames as fast as I can  fun out

YUP:iagree:, time to start hoarding this stuff, every time I sell something, or chuck it I find a use for it in a week or 2.

Traded off the wreck my kid was driving back last October. So it it was time to haul the parts car we had sitting in the back to the shredder. The scrap guy didn't even want it! Two weeks before it would have been $70. Now it was worth $5. Pointed down the road to an old car wrecker and said he'd give me $10. Well I guess better than staring at it in my backyard. After I got home and taking in the consideration the gas used to drag it there. Instead of a bug deflector for the kids new truck. I reached into the fridge grabbed two beers, gave one to the kid and said "Well sit back and lets watch the economy go into the toilet."
