I saw that boat for sale on craigslist.
I believe it's got a Monty Mod 1 package. Raise it up. It's too burried in the pics. Should be a nice ride though.

I met you at the ramp nice boat. Get a low water pickup and raise the engine. Have the prop staightened so you don't loose the bearings or seals. I would think mid to upper 80s. Another boater here in Miami runs a 235 on an 18 action we run about every 2-3 weeks sure are welcome to join us. We hit the sandbar and run up to 79th st bridge nice eye candy sand bar on right. Yes. It's a 3 liter looper. My cousin was looking into buying that boat. It needs a nose cone for sure. Get yourself a nice 27 SRX or 28 ChopperII. It will run mid eighties easily with the right set-up.

The first V6 looper was 1986. It was 2.7 liter. 1988-up are all 3 liter. Monty doesn't touch cross-flows.

perfect, since we are in the topic of engines... what plugs should i run the NGK BZ7HS-10(2.60 a piece) or a a bit colder plug like NGK BPZ8HS-10(6.50 a piece). It originally was running the 7's.

I had an 87 2.7 looper and I always confuse my slef to think 87 was the first year, but they are right, 86 is the year!

Glad to see someone here bought that boat. I actually went to look at it. Hope it runs good for you. Wasn't a bad deal, just needed a little TLC.

Its a looper.. YOU NEED A LOW WATER PICKUP! if its got a mod 1 package put a 30p Chopper II, make sure it is a chopper II not a chopper. My 29SRX ran 94 with 14%slip at the same engine height the 30 chopper II ran 100+ with 9% slip... full interior etc and all...
Nice ride! Very well rounded fun boat! Good luck with it...
