I just put a 2008 150 VMAX on my 1977 16' wrangler skeeter. I took the old prop off my 1500 merc. that ran about 54 mph, but I can not even give this yamaha a quarter of throttle without hitting 5500RPM, and it won't even plane out. Any suggestions?????

Looks like you need to get the correct prop for the hull / motor, the 13 1/4 dia. wheel ya got seems awfully small diameter. What type prop is it? Alum or Stainless ? ? number blades ? condition ? what kinda hub does it have, and you sure if a rubber hub (likely) that it ain't spun ?

It's stainless, three blades, It has a compressed rubber hub. I thought maybe it was slipping because it vibrated some when the rpms got up there. Any ideas? I looked at a satinless yamaha 15 1/8 x 27. Would this be to big, or should I go with a 4 blade of some sort?

I'm not sure. I would ask the dealer what he would reccomend for your motor/boat combo.

so you took the prop off an i-6 and tried to put it on a v-6,dia of the old prop is probably the issue.where is the motor mounted (how high).I'm thinkin something like 14x23 yamaha does not recomend 15inch dia wheels on there 150s hope that helps:D
