Post a picture and I can tell you. Some people could probably tell you from the stamped numbers, but I'd have to compare them. I'm not aware of an outboard Speedmaster referred to as a #2. There were SSM's in various types, MC1's and then the IV's and VI's.
You'll probably find this thread helpful. For some reason the thumbnails have disappeared, so you'll have to click on the links on each post to see the pictures.

I've never seen that exact housing, but what I THINK it is, is a VERY EARLY VI that was the first generation, coming around about the time of the transition from 6 bolt to 8 bolt mids on the T3 engines. If that's the case, it would be from somewhere in the '77/'78 year range.

I agree
Is that case 1 to 1 and what prop are you Running, where are they available?

The props are very common used, since a newer version of that case is still used. They're also available new from Merc, and aftermarket.
I've never seen a 1:1 VI Speedmaster, but not absolutely sure they never made them. I THINK (my memory sux) that the VI's were 15:16 which is VERY CLOSE to 1:1.
Keep in mind also that you HAVE TO turn your powerhead backwards to run one. If they ever made a VI that was compatible with a R Rotation powerhead I'm not aware of it. If you turn a SSM the wrong way it'll go BANG:eek: almost instantly. Some of the IV's (fours) were made in right rotation, and some have been converted, but not VI's as far as I know.
Incidentally, all it takes to turn a powerhead backwards is a starter, flywheel, and reset the timing, which takes a different piece of linkage to the trigger. NO OTHER changes or adjustments are required.;)

That was specifically the question.
