..........executive compensation, REGARDLESS of whether the company took bailout money or not, and REGARDLESS of whether it's a financial institution. ALL executive pay at risk.

These DUMBASSES contend that executive compensation in ALL companies CAUSED the economic meltdown. Still NO mention of energy prices causing this in the first place OR any belief that with Big Oil conspiring to run prices up again we're headed right back to another downward spiral.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I don't see energy as part of any troubled assets. I see a lot of bad mortgages given to people that should have never had them.

I believe that energy is the very reason that a lot of people who should never have had these mortgages could no longer service the debt, and I've seen that firsthand in my own environment, with some borderline people losing cars, renigging on credit cards, etc. No question the economy was shakey and had some MAJOR weaknesses, but somthing about a 100 billion net in one year by one industry could kick the knees out from under an economy that was much healthier than ours has been for years.

Regardless on whether that's agreed upon or not, there can be NO QUESTION that fuel costs have absolutely wrecked and wreaked havoc on the American Auto industry, just like it did in the '70's when the Oil Companies last decided to grab overnight windfalls. In any case it becomes painfully clear where the corruption in congress and the whitehouse swivels from with no mention of curbs on energy price manipulation while they've vilanized virtually every other component of American industry.

I believe Energy namely Oil was the first snowball rolling down the hill by the Rats (Refusing to allow drilling the list goes on) and a lot of the economy being tanked was deliberate around election time. Now for the rest of this nonsense I attribute it to Illegal Government in Washington DC.

Its easy to pick on the oil companies but people were living above their means in homes they didn't belong in. These people could barely afford to make the interest only payment, once the full mortgage kicked in they were all screwed.

Don't get me wrong, I want to drill in my back yard if need be but we had much bigger issues then oil. $100Bil is still just a small percentage of the $1TRILLION in subprime loans.

As soon as McCain took the 8 point lead after the Republic Convention, the Dems panicked and pull the plug on Frannie and Freddie, after that it was ALL down hill from there.:mad: Chuck
