Just bought one about a month ago. Love the boat so far. I think it will really work out nice for my family once I repower it. Thanks everyone for the SOB suggestions when I was trying to decide what to buy. For now, we're enjoying our slow cruises around the chain up north here. I guess the info I'm looking for is how have these boat held up over the years? I know that is directly related to how well they were maintained, but are there any know problem areas I should check out. They are a balsa cored hull right? Do these have a habit of turning into sawdust like my Vector did? It has been used, but it isn't in terrible shape. Only a couple small cracks in the gel around the transom. I can't get the transom to flex a bit even hanging off the motor and I'm a big boy. Other than that, the boat is real solid. Floor is solid as a rock. Sorry for the long post, just trying to be realistic about what this boat may need in the future. Thanks!

Maybe no news is good news! I think I've read just about every thread that mentions Rally Sports in it! Not much mentioned regarding rot or structural problems. Anyone? :)

I have a 73 16 footer looks alot like a tahiti sidewinder what ever I bought this 10 years ago with motor 150 l6 and trailor. The motor is gone the trailor is gone but the boat keeps floating. With all the abuse that can be given to a boat it is still there. Floor is now soft and the transom wet but it still goes on. I think they made a good product. By the way the reason the transom and floor is gone is because the previous drilled holes and never filled them. Rick

Cool, they seem like stout boats. I guess I should be specific, mine is a 1988 21'.

With any new used boat check the engine mounting bolts and any through hull fittings etc and check they were properly sealed. Death of alot of transoms and hulls are from unsealed improper mountings. Wildman had one for sale and it was sweet. I just bought a checkmate and found 6 holes in the transom besides the engine holes they were filled with silicon so I cleaned them out and epoxied dowel rods in the holes. Rick

Mine looks just like the hull Wildman sold...sort of. That boat was mint! Something for my old girl to aspire to I guess!
