Keep in mind the race course angles toward the island so it always looks like the outside lane has a huge advantage at the start and it looks like the inside lane closes really hard at the finish. That's just the angle of the course. Great videos. Bruce's boat is finally coming out of the hole. He's had mucho top end forever but would get beat out of the hole - prop would slip. Looks like he's getting the holeshot figured out.

Great videos thanks:thumbsup: Your right the angle of the dangle is very important. Its amazing how many people cant figure that out when watching races:p

Can play all kind of games. Sam, I did hear through a little birdy that the 2nd E-Tec showed up for 1st time and won class.
Only camera that matters is the one lined up across the finish line buoys ;)
Even on the finish line dock at Crooked Lake we were seeing way different finishes than guys on the beach. Many close enough that w/o a camera I wouldn't have bet either way but knew it was opposite of what it appeared from beach!

You can be ten feet away from the finish line agngle and not tell acuratly who won a race.If you are in front of or behind by even the slightest amount you cant accurately call a finish.I have videos of me racing that look like I lost but in fact won those passes and a class. Its very decieving for sure. Also the track at crooked lake wasnt exactly the same angle as the beach.Unless you are oput ther in a boat you cant tell that.Same at Ft Rucker. What appears to be a paralell track to teh beach it realy is not.Thts the case at most drag races courses actualy.

We used to have the fast guys at the Rumble send a member of their crew to the finish line where our judge was. That way atleast EVERYONE saw the same thing. Never had an argument accordingly.

The rookie showed up the first week and looked like a seasoned vet! He lined up well and was great and took home first place. I guess he was real nervous but you would nave never known watching him race.

The divers and rescue folks sit on a boat at the finish line on the opposite side of the course from where the video is shot and they call the finishes. There's always people on the docks arguing about who got first but you just can't see it accurately from there.

The optical illusion from where I am able to get a full view with cameras is worse than I can even try to explain.

I think the only way to see or record the race and not get an optical illusion of the finish line would be to hover in a helicopter 50 to 100 feet past the finish line and shoot the race coming straight at you! Any one got a helicopter?? I would be more than happy to do it if I can find a ride!! LOL :p

Glad you are enjoying the boat! Not sure, I'll ee what I got going this summer. My Mirage is now on steroids so the class structure doesn't like me ;)

Hey Tommy!!! You need to get your butt out here to hang out for a few days!! Even if you don't race or don't feel like pulling the boat over the beer is still ice cold! I know someone would have an open seat for you.
